About the Park. Tunkwa and Leighton Lakes are world-class trout fishing lakes. Activities include fishing, hiking, cycling, wildlife viewing, ATV-ing, and horseback riding. A corral is available to horseback riders at the North Leighton campsite within the park. Wild horses can often be seen grazing the open meadows around Tunkwa Lake.

The Tunkwa Campground is a pet-friendly, first-come, first-served campground that permits camping during the park's primary operating season. It is the largest campground, and it is close to Tunkwa Lake and one of the park's two day-use areas.. Tunkwa Lake restricts boat motors to a maximum of 10 horsepower, and both lakes prefer slower.

Tunkwa Lake is made up of many bays, peninsulas and shallow patches at the north and south ends. Several streams feed the lake on the south side. Leighton also has many shallow bays, flats and 2 small islands on its east side. Both lakes offer excellent fishing. Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park is 14.5 km. (9 miles) north of the community of Logan.

Outdoor Activities Boat rentals are available as well as lots of advice on how to catch those big Rainbow Trout.
